Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed how he managed to change the game of Sergio Aguero.
Discussing Barcelona and Leo Messi, Guardiola says getting Aguero to think more of the team has seen the Argentine improve.
He told Ara: “I can talk about what I tried to do with Messi. From the first day I tried to get him to play for the benefit of the team, such as Agüero.
“What other people have done, who am I to say anything? I feel it very much when other trainers judge me. (Louis) van Gaal, like Johan, is so direct. I am more careful, I do not want to offend, even though there are people who think so, and I do not want to be misinterpreted.”
Guardiola was referring to Van Gaal questioning Messi’s leadership as captain of Barca last season.
