Real Madrid director Jeronimo Farre says signing Barcelona star Lionel Messi has never been a serious option.
Farre, who has a place on the Madrid Board of Directors, has explained that the Argentine was never a likely target for the club.
“If Messi hasn’t played in Madrid it’s because we’ve not been able to make it happen,” Farre told El Mundo.
“Because he hasn’t been feasible or affordable.
“The other mega star was Cristiano Ronaldo and Madrid enjoyed his talent for nine seasons.”
