Ghana international David Accam will be on the move after a year with new Major League Soccer club Columbus Crew.
At the end of the current season, the winger, who joined the Black and Gold from Philadelphia Union last week, will be heading for second-tier side Nashville SC, who are set to play in the top tier from next year.
He made his Columbus Crew debut in a 3-0 loss to Los Angeles FC on Saturday.
“Columbus Crew SC today announced that the Club has finalized a trade with 2020 Major League Soccer expansion side Nashville SC,” the Black and Gold have announced on their official website.
“Effective January 1, 2020, midfielder David Accam will be traded to Nashville SC.
“In exchange, Crew SC will receive $450,000 [€403,219] in Allocation Money – specifically 350,000 [€313,615] in General Allocation Money (GAM) and $100,000 [€89,604] in Targeted Allocation Money (TAM).
“The finalized transaction, agreed upon as part of the close of the 2019 primary transfer window, ensures Accam will remain a part of the Crew SC roster for the remainder of the 2019 season before joining Nashville ahead of its inaugural season in MLS.”
Accam left Philadelphia Union for Crew after just one season and the current campaign marks his first year in the MLS.
In his first three campaigns – which he spent with Chicago Fire – the winger scored 33 league goals and registered 15 assists.
With Union, his season ended in disappointment as a series of injuries and loss of form saw him score just once in 23 league matches.
The 28-year-old could be selected by Ghana for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt where the Black Stars have been drawn against Cameroon, Benin and Guinea-Bissau in Group F.
