Macarthur FC has been one of the options touted for the new franchise, while ‘The Bulls’ has also been mentioned as likely nickname for the team.
The general reaction to the leaked content on social media was positive.
I think I like it, just not sure about the Macarthur name, but I’ll need to do some digging on John Macarthur’s history.

I’m glad we’re finally moving past basic city names and going into more of a region based theme. More of it please.

I like it, but a shame they didn’t go with Dharawal. Would have been a real point of difference, and a positive one at that.

I like it. A region in the name as well as ‘the bulls’ means a strong identity is captured immediately 👏🏻. I’m still trying to figure out what people will call WUFC. “United” is taken (AUFC). “Western” is so undefined. Will they add a nickname like Bulls, Jets, Roar, Glory?

The franchise won’t be making their debut until the 2020-21 A-League season and have been linked with ex-Socceroos captain Mile Jedinak as their first marquee.
