Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu retains hopes of staging LaLiga games overseas.
The Blaugrana were supposed to be involved in the first overseas LaLiga Santander match earlier this season, but opposition from lots of other clubs and the Spanish Football Federation put paid to such an idea, for this campaign at least.
“We want to continue ‘footballising’ the United States,” he admitted.
“I want there to be three games abroad every year to promote LaLiga Santander.
“One in the US, one in the Middle East and one in Asia; they watch us on TV and this is a way of getting closer to those fans.”
