Everton plotting summer swoop for Rafael Leao

Everton are reportedly keen on signing the Lille front-man.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Everton are interested in signing Lille ace Rafael Leao this summer, with director of football Marcel Brands thought to be keen on adding more young talent to the playing squad.

Leao, 19, joined the Ligue 1 outfit last summer, having terminated his contract with Sporting Lisbon, and he has gone on to rack up seven goals and two assists in 21 appearances so far this season.

The Portugal under-21 international is a real live-wire, and has already been compared to Kylian Mbappe, according to the Daily Mail.

Everton certainly need more quality in the attacking department, and despite the fact that Leao is far from the finished article, he would undoubtedly add more pace and youthful exuberance to their play in the final third.

The Daily Mail claims that the Toffees will not have things all their own way, however, with Manchester City also believed to be keen on signing the teenager.

Leao is certainly a real talent, and should Everton win the race for his signature this summer, they will have a tremendously exciting young player on their hands.
