TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
D.C. United have just launched their USL Championship team, and a player with a claim to history for Loudoun United could be the MLS team’s next signing.
Steven Goff reported in The Washington Post on Monday that 16-year-old midfielder Griffin Yow, who scored the first-ever goal for Loudoun United over the weekend, is about to sign a Homegrown deal with D.C. United.
Yow, a member of D.C. United’s academy who has been playing for the USL Championship club on an academy contract so far, is a US U-17 international and was part of D.C. United’s squad throughout preseason. He notched the opening goal in Loudoun United’s 1-1 draw against fellow USL Championship expansion team Memphis 901 FC on Saturday.
