The Seattle Sounders are on the precipice of their best three-match start since their debut MLS season, and Jordan Morris‘ return is a big reason why.
Morris set up one goal and then scored a second for Seattle inside the opening 15 minutes of Saturday’s match at the Chicago Fire. A win would give the Sounders their second-ever 3-0-0 start in MLS. The first came in 2009.
After missing all of 2018 with a torn ACL, Morris now has three goals and an assist so far after hitting a brace in the Sounders’ home opener two weeks ago.
In the eighth minute against Chicago, Morris beat his man on the right flank and then sent a perfectly weighted ball for Victor Rodriguez to finish at the back post.
Seven minutes later, Morris ran onto Nicolas Lodeiro‘s perfect early diagonal ball and then chipped stranded goalkeeper David Ousted.
