TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Loan
FC Cincinnati announced on Friday that forward Emery Welshman has been loaned to Forge FC of the new Canadian Premier League for the 2019 season.
A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Welshman made one preseason appearance for the Orange and Blue before suffering a hamstring injury, which forced him out of the lineup the rest of preseason.
Welshman, who previously spent time with Real Salt Lake and Toronto FC, made 26 regular-season appearances (14 starts), scored four goals and added four assists for Cincy in USL play last season, then signed an MLS contract with the club in December.
The loan of Welshman to the new club in Hamilton, Ontario also opens up an international roster spot on FC Cincy’s MLS roster.
