Kylian Mbappe subjected to racist graffiti in Paris leading to calls for a police investigation

KYLIAN MBAPPE has been the target of racist graffiti being daubed on the train network in Paris.

Brilliant Paris Saint-Germain star Mbappe has become one of the best players in world football and built up an army of fans worldwide.

His display at Old Trafford in midweek to help PSG beat Manchester United grabbed the headline across the globe and left some stunned by the pace he possesses.

But the 20-year-old has also been subjected to sick abuse of the rail system in the French capital, believed to have been carried out by right-wing groups.

The hugely offensive messages have appeared on the RER C – one of the metro lines running across Paris both overground and underground.

One used the N-word, and is accompanied with a Celtic cross image – a symbol said to be used right far-right extremists in France.

Now anti-discrimination groups in the country have called on the police and other authorities to launch an investigation into who is behind the sick taunts.

The SOS Racisme and Sportitude, who confront racism in professional football across France, are demanding urgent action be taken to identify the perpetrators.

A statement said: “By attacking Kylian Mbappe, this or these individual(s) are deliberately attacking the image of France: a diverse France that they cannot stand.

“Kylian Mbappe is a symbol of a mixed-race France that succeeds, a fact that is impossible for some people to accept.

“This graffiti constitutes a violent attack on a France that brings us all together.

“It must absolutely be denounced and punished, because, in addition to being insulting and denigrating, it’s a move designed to divide.”

One of the messages came to let when it was published as photo on Twitter by a prominent anti-discrimination campaigner.

Yohann Roszewitch, the former head of SOS Homophobie in France, posted the pic with the message: “On the RER C when homophobia, racism and anti-Semitism are now displayed in a totally open manner.”
