LA Galaxy returning five stars on jersey above crest

New LA Galaxy jerseys for 2019 will once again feature five stars above the crest, one for each MLS Cup conquest in club history.

It’s a modification of the Galaxy crest showcased over the the last three seasons which has featured a single gold star, representing the collection of five MLS Cup titles.

The Galaxy have won more MLS Cups than any other club in league history, with D.C. United‘s four triumphs coming in second. The Galaxy’s most recent championship came in 2014, when Robbie Keane helped power the club past the New England Revolution

“The LA Galaxy are MLS’s most successful club,” team president Chris Klein said in a statement. “Each star represents an incredible journey in our club’s history. They represent a series of accomplishments that no other Major League Soccer team has replicated. Our jersey will showcase what we’ve achieved on the field and in the city of Los Angeles.”

The club also announced they will be revealing their new secondary kit at the LA Galaxy Jersey Launch Party at the NOVO Theatre at L.A. LIVE in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 17.
