Alphonso Davies is ready for the world’s biggest stage.
As if he wasn’t already mentally prepared, the Vancouver Whitecaps Homegrown product now technically available for selection for Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League, as his new club added him to their European roster ahead of a Round-of-16 clash with last season’s runners-up, Liverpool FC.
Bayern will be without star attacker Thomas Muller against Liverpool, as the German international serves a two-match ban. Last season, Bayern were eliminated in the semifinals of the Champions League to Real Madrid, who would triumph over Liverpool in the final.

Davies has made two appearances from the bench to kick off his Bayern career; the club are tied for second in the Bundesliga, seven points behind league-leading Borussia Dortmund.
The 18-year-old Canada international joined Bayern in January after Vancouver agreed on a transfer fee that could rise to up to $22 million, a then-MLS record before Miguel Almiron was sold to Newcastle a few weeks ago.
Davies had eight goals and 11 assists in his final MLS season with the Whitecaps in 2018 before heading to Munich.
