TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
The Portland Timbers are reportedly in the market for a young striker on a Designated Player deal and reports continue to follow as to who might be on their short list.
After being linked with Ezequiel Ponce, the club are reported to also have interest in Julian Quiñones of Liga MX’s Tigres, according to ESPN’s Jeff Carlisle. He adds that the club are still interested in Ponce as well as an unnamed target.
I’m told that one of the forwards Portland is pursuing is Julian Quinones of Tigres. No deal imminent but along with Ezequiel Ponce (reported by @PaulTenorio) that is who they are pursuing. Also told they are looking at one other target. #RCTID

Quiñones, 21, is a forward that has played through the center and on both wings in his career. In Liga MX Apertura, he had two goals and two assists in 13 matches. In Clausura play, which recently kicked off, he hasn’t scored yet in three appearances as Tigres have started 1-1-1.
