West Ham United have made enquires to check up on the situation of Mario Balotelli, who has also been linked with Newcastle United this month.
The Hammers are keen on bringing in a striker in the current transfer window, with Marko Arnautovic tipped to complete a big money move to China.
West Ham have been linked with a number of potential options and, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, the Premier League club have made enquiries to understand Balotelli’s situation.
The 28-year-old Italy striker is on the books at Nice, where he earns €5m per year, but has not played for the club since 4th December.
His agent Mino Raiola has been looking for a solution for his client this month and Newcastle have been linked.
Genoa could be another option for Balotelli, but the striker would have to take a big pay cut to secure a return to Italy.
Balotelli has had spells in the Premier League with Manchester City and Liverpool, and it remains to be seen if he might secure a return to England this month with West Ham.
