TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
With Dennis te Kloese and Guillermo Barros Schelotto in charge for the LA Galaxy, the hot stove for the club is really cooking.
Kevin Baxter of The Los Angeles Times reported on Friday that the Galaxy are close to adding both Uruguayan defender Diego Polenta and Mexican midfielder Uriel Antuna, the latter on loan from Manchester City.
.@LAGalaxy close to a deal that would bring 21-yr-old Mexican MF Uriel Antuna to the team on a loan from Manchester City. The Dennis te Kloese Mexican correction strikes. Team is also near a deal w/ Diego Polento, an outside back from Uruguay. That’s the Schelotto connection

Polenta has been linked to LA earlier this month. The 26-year-old is a center back, playing at Uruguayan power Nacional since 2014. Prior to that, he played in Italy for Genoa and Bari, and is a former Uruguayan youth international.
Antuna, 21, signed with Man City in 2017 from Santos Laguna, where he came through the youth ranks before making his professional debut that year. Since joining he’s been on loan at Dutch outfit Groningen, and he’s a Mexican youth international.
Guadalajara-based reporter Tom Marshall corroborated Baxter’s report on Antuna.
The Galaxy open the 2019 MLS regular season on March 2 at home against the Chicago Fire.
