Sergio Ramos, Raphaël Varane, Luka Modric and Marcelo have been named in the Team of the Year 2018 published by uefa.com. The four madridistas have made the cut after having been voted by users of the aforementioned website. Real Madrid are the best-represented club in a line-up which also features Ter Stegen (Barcelona), Van Dijk (Liverpool), Kanté (Chelsea), Hazard (Chelsea), Mbappe (PSG), Messi (Barcelona) and Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus and Real Madrid).
Ramos takes his place in the Team of the Year for the eighth time and the seventh year in a row. Meanwhile, Marcelo and Modric also retain their places in the team from last year, with the latter the most-voted player in this edition. The duo make the team for the third time, whilst Varane takes his place in the line-up for the first time.
