Las Vegas authorities have sent out a warrant to collect DNA from Cristiano Ronaldo in order to discover if it matches traces found on a dress belonging to Kathryn Mayorga, the woman who has accused him of raping her in a hotel room in 2009, according to multiple reports.
The reports state that the warrant has been sent to the court system in Italy, where the five-time Ballon d’Or winner plays for league leaders Juventus.
Police in Las Vegas confirmed in October they had reopened a criminal investigation at Mayorga’s request.
According to the civil lawsuit which was filed in state court in September, Mayorga, who was then 25, alleged that Ronaldo raped her in his hotel room in the city, then was coerced into signing a nondisclosure agreement in 2010 in an out-of-court settlement in exchange for $375,000.
The suit asks for general damages, special damages, punitive damages and special relief, each in excess of $50,000, along with interest, attorney fees and court costs.
