The 2019 MLS regular season schedule is out, and the Philadelphia Union found a special way to celebrate.
Homegrown midfielder Derrick Jones and mascot Phang hung out in a Chester parking lot, and kicked, hit and broke a lot of stuff. The items picked? Meant to represent Philly’s upcoming opponents.
If you have the sense this looks familiar, that’s because it resembles a famous scene in 1990s cult comedy film “Office Space,” where three office workers lay waste to a work printer in a field. The Union’s video is more good-natured, but the sentiment to destroy the competition on the field is unmistakable.
