Liverpool face Premier League competition to sign “Turkish Messi” Abdulkadir Omur from Trabzonspor, sources have told ESPN FC.
The Turkish Super Lig side are aware of interest from Liverpool for Omur, but Jurgen Klopp has yet to table a bid for the 19-year-old.
Trabzonspor are resigned to the fact that Omur is likely to leave at the end of the season and have set a minimum price of €20 million, but are keen to hold onto him in the January transfer window.
The Turkey under-21 international has attracted interest from across Europe since breaking into the Trabzonspor first team last season, and he is keen on a move to the Premier League.
Omur has established himself as a key first-team figure at Trabzonspor, despite his age.
He has gone on to make 16 Turkish Super League appearances this campaign scoring twice and providing four assists.
He signed a contract extension last summer which expires in June 2022.
