Atlanta United‘s U-19 academy team notched another impressive victory in Germany on Sunday, this time in dramatic fashion.
Knotted 2-2 with Rangers FC in the waning seconds of their small-sided indoor match, it appeared the Five Stripes youth side would have to settle for a draw. That is, until Evangelo Spartiatis beat his defender into the box with a deft touch off the wall. The ATLUTD attacker fired home inside the near post to lift his team to a 3-2 win at the death.

Competing in a respected annual youth tournament held at the Glaspalast (Glass Palace) in Sindelfingen, Atlanta would fall 3-0 to Bayern Munich later in the day. But the MLS youngsters can keep their heads held high, having defeated eventual tournament champions Liverpool on Saturday to open the competition.
