7-0 – our record away win – the stats…

Our biggest FA Cup wins

The 7-0 win against Tranmere is the fifth time we’ve won by a seven-goal margin in the FA Cup – a competition we first entered all the way back in 1894!

Indeed, it’s the first time we’ve won by seven goals since our all-time record scoreline, 13-2 against Crewe in 1960.

Incredibly, that initial fourth round tie ended in a 2-2 draw before we put together what remains our record victory in all competitions in the replay at the Lane. Les Allen led the way with five goals, Bobby Smith grabbed four, Cliff Jones bagged a hat-trick and Tommy Harmer popped up with the 13th, his last goal for Spurs.
