Cesc Fabregas expected to complete transfer to French Ligue 1

Cesc Fabregas is reportedly on the verge of completing a transfer to AS Monaco next week. The Spanish midfielder has requested a transfer away from Stamford Bridge after faling down the pecking order under new boss Maurizio Sarri. Fabregas has played just 154 minutes in the Premier League this season.

According to L’Equipe, Fabregas has already given the green light to his management to complete negotiations with Monaco. Currently 19th in Ligue 1, Monaco are managed by Fabregas’s former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry.

AC Milan have also shown interest in Fabregas and it was believed the former FC Barcelona midfielder preferred a move to the Serie A. The Italians are in financial troubles and can’t afford to pay a transfer fee to Chelsea in January. The Blues refuse to terminate Fabregas’s contract or send him to Milan on loan after they blocked Gonzalo Higuain’s move to Stamford Bridge.
