Arsenal have sadly seen their big-money offer for Cengiz Under rejected by Roma.
Unai Emery was impressed with the player’s output throughout last year and has chosen to lure him to the Emirates Stadium this month.
With Manchester City and United already in the hunt for the 21-year-old winger, Emery made quick move when he submitted a £55m offer to Roma so as to beat his competitors.
However, according to fotomac, Roma has turned down Emery’s offer as the Spanish tactician didn’t meet up their price tag.
The Italian media claimed that Roma are not ready to part ways with the youngster in January, but it would take huge money from interested clubs to make them change their decision.
Though the former Paris St-German manager has some exciting wingers at his disposal, Cengiz Under possess wonderful skills at the flanks which will help the Spaniard secure a top-four finish by the end of the season.
The 21-year-old winger has 14 goals and 10 assists in 55 matches he’d played for the Serie A club, making him one of the most important players in the team.
Only time will tell if Emery would make another improved offer for the youngster or he would turn to another player in the winter transfer market.
Meanwhile, United boss Solskjaer is also in the race to capture Under’s services, that’s according to Fotomac.
It might turn out to be a mere rumor because the Old Trafford outfits have many wingers and there is no reason to add more in the winter window
