Atlanta United’s season is over, capped by last week’s championship-winning performance in front of a packed home crowd in the 2018 MLS Cup final at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
But the Five Stripes are still repping on the MBS turf this weekend, thanks to Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, who gave his team’s sibling club a shoutout on Sunday via some custom cleats:

Sanu wore the distinctive footwear during warmups before the Falcons’ game vs. the Arizona Cardinals. Owner Arthur Blank and the rest of his organization are by now well-known for their inclusive, cooperative approach to managing the two ATL franchises, which coinhabit MBS and share other resources and infrastructure.
Unfortunately for Blank & Co., it’s been a much tougher year for the Falcons than for ATLUTD, with the Dirty Birds stuck at the bottom of the NFC South standings even after an emphatic win over the Cardinals pushed their record to 5-9. Perhaps the Five Stripes players in attendance on Sunday brought some luck…
