TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
Vancouver Whitecaps FC are making a major overhaul to their roster this offseason under new head coach Marc Dos Santos, and reports from Sweden indicate the team could be targeting a Swedish defender for the upcoming season.
First reported in Swedish outlet Borås Tidning, the Whitecaps are reportedly one of several teams interested in Johan Larsson. The 28-year-old has just departed Brondby, and will be available on a free transfer.

Larsson has spent his career to date at just two clubs, Swedish side Elfsborg (2010-14) and Danish outfit Brondby (2015-18). The Swedish top flight defender of the year in 2014, he was captain at Brondby and won the 2017-18 domestic cup there.
He is also a Swedish international, and was last called up earlier this year in friendlies during the March FIFA window.
Reports indicate Larsson is fielding offers from several countries.
At present, the Whitecaps only have one right back, Jake Nerwinski, on their roster ahead of the 2019 season.
