#UCLfantasy matchday six: The Scout squad – UEFA Champions League – News

With 68 points banked on matchday five, The Scout is looking at a respectable overall group total, and is putting faith in home advantage to prove a crucial factor in the final round of group games.

Goalkeepers

Schalke are certain to finish second in Group D but have been impressive at home so far as they welcome Lokomotiv Moskva; Ralf Fährmann (€4.5m) is therefore selected in goal. Odisseas Vlachodimos (€4.5m), whose Benfica side host an AEK Athens outfit who have managed only two goals in their first five games, is in line to come in should Tuesday’s fixture not go to plan.

Defenders

Schalke and Benfica are also represented in defence, via Salif Sané (€4.6m) and Alex Grimaldo (€4.5m) respectively. João Cancelo (€5.0m) has kept clean sheets on his first three appearances as his Juventus team travel to winless Young Boys, while Kyle Walker (€5.4m) and Abdou Diallo (€4.6m) will be hoping to help Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund to claim first place in their respective sections. Diallo is particularly appealing with 23 points from four appearances, and only 3% ownership.

Midfielders

Midfield was a major disappointment last time out for The Scout’s squad, and the whole department has been upgraded for matchday six. Liverpool’s decisive fixture against Napoli is surely made for Mohamed Salah (€11.0m), especially given his weekend hat-trick, while Riyad Mahrez (€8.6m) is in line to start again as Manchester City take on Hoffenheim. Dortmund are at Monaco, and Marco Reus (€9.1m) provides their second member of the squad while Gedson Fernandes (€5.5m) is Benfica’s third representative. Shakhtar Donetsk are another side facing a matchday six showdown, in their case at home to Lyon, making Marlos (€5.9m) an attractive mid-priced option.

Forwards

Shakhtar also feature in the forward line, Júnior Moraes (€6.0m) included given his double in the reverse fixture in Lyon and his impressive domestic scoring form. The remaining two forwards are big hitters whose sides will be relying on them for potentially decisive impacts. Internazionale will be out to beat PSV Eindhoven to give themselves the best chance of progressing from Group B and should they manage that, Mauro Icardi (€10.0m) is likely to be central. Similarly, Kylian Mbappé (€10.0m) is expected to be a crucial fixture for Paris Saint-Germain at Crvena zvezda as the French champions look to wrap up a top-two finish in Group C.
