MLS Cup fever has hit Atlanta, and it’s officially Atlanta United’s city.
That’s because the Atlanta City Council officially declared Monday to be “Atlanta United Day.” The announcement came during a council meeting, with supporters, Atlanta United players and other team personnel to join ranks with the government representatives and celebrate the occasion.

The team, which has amassed an impressive following in two seasons and is expected to have the largest crowd ever for an MLS Cup when they host the Portland Timbers on Saturday (8 pm ET | FOX, UniMás, TSN, TVAS), looks to have the full support of the city of Atlanta behind them.
