ST. PETERSBURG, November 29. /TASS/. Russia’s Zenit St. Petersburg defeated Denmark’s Kobenhavn 1:0 at home during the UEFA Europa League group stage Matchday 5 on Thursday and secured a place in the tournament’s playoff.
The only goal in the game was scored by Robert Mak on the 59th minute.
The game was attended by 45,199 spectators, Zenit’s best result during this season’s Europa League.
The team from St. Petersburg now leads Group C with 11 points and has already secured a place in the tournament’s knockout stage well ahead of its opponents Slavia Praha (7 points), Kobenhavn (5 points) and France’s Bordeaux (4 points).
On Matchday 6, Zenit will face Slavia Praha and Kobenhavn will take on Bordeaux on December 13.
