Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila has joined his Red Star Belgrade teammates at training as they gear up for the UEFA Champions League clash against SS Napoli on Wednesday.
Sumaila took part in his team’s final training ahead of their trip to Latvia as they look to make a significant showing away from home.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns guardsman was close to making his debut bow in the competition last month in the 4-0 loss against Liverpool after travelling with the team but was left out of the final squad.
The 25-year-old will hope to make to play a role in the match after excelling in the Serbian Cup game against Backa Topola last week.
Vladan Milojević’s will have to avoid defeat in Naples and hope the result between Paris Saint Germain and Liverpool favours them in their bid to pick one of the two qualifying slots in the group.
Red Stars are sitting bottom of the log with four points, points adrift of joint leaders Napoli and Liverpool, with PSG just a point above them.
