U21 EURO 2019 final tournament draw – Under-21 – News

Hosts Italy will face Spain in next summer’s UEFA European Under-21 Championship group stage, a repeat of the 2013 final. The draw took place in Bologna on Friday.

Group A: Italy, Spain, Poland, Belgium
Group B: Germany, Denmark, Serbia, Austria
Group C: England, France, Romania, Croatia

Teams will play each other once in the group, with the winners and the best overall runner-up advancing to the semi-finals, where it becomes a knockout competition.

Italy, holders Germany and England were in Pot 1, with Spain, Denmark and France in Pot 2. The other six contenders comprised Pot 3.

The tournament runs from 16-30 June, with matches organised as follows:

Group A: 16, 19, 22 June
Group B: 17, 20, 23 June
Group C: 18, 21, 24 June
Semi-final 1 (winner Group A v runner-up Group B/C or winner Group C): 27 June
Semi-final 2 (winner Group B v runner-up Group A or winner Group C): 27 June
Final: 30 June
