TRANSFER TRACKER: Report
He has 25 goals in Ecuador’s top flight, he’s broken into his country’s national team and he’s only 22.
Remember the name: Brayan Angulo Tenorio.
Emelec’s top scorer, nicknamed “El Cuco,” was reportedly the subject of an offer from an unnamed MLS club back in June, but the Ecuadorean side rejected the advance given their current pursuit of the domestic league title. Emelec lead the second stage of the 2018 championship with four matches remaining and they would face Quito’s Liga Deportiva Universitaria for the title if they can hold on and finish top.
The player’s representative, Jose Chamorro, told Ecuador TV show Fanático that he’s working on helping the player make a move to a new league though the player is currently focused on becoming champion with Emelec.
“It could be Europe, Mexico, MLS,” he said. “Cuco has had a good tournament and I think he has the tools to move abroad.”
Angulo has been called in for two camps with the Ecuadorean national team and he recently made his international debut when he started in a 2-1 win over Panama on November 20.
