Liverpool could play their pivotal Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain in front of thousands of empty seats as UEFA ponder further disciplinary action against the French club.
According to a report in French news outlet L’Equipe, UEFA’s Disciplinary Committee will meet on November 22 to deliberate on incidents between supporters during PSG’s group game at home to Red Star Belgrade in October.
And among the sanctions available to UEFA could see a partial or even complete closure of the 47,929-capacity Parc des Princes when Liverpool visit for their Group C game on November 28.
The latter punishment appears unlikely, with the Reds on Tuesday confirming they have been handed an allocation of 2,000 tickets for the match, priced at £70 each.
UEFA’s Disciplinary Committee have already handed out a fine to PSG after the Red Star game for a failure to kick-off on time.
However, they also then appointed an inspector to investigate trouble between supporters inside and outside the stadium.

Although Red Star fans were banned from officially attending the game in Paris after incidents during their qualifier at Red Bull Salzburg, a number travelled and gained access to the stadium.
Outside the ground, it was reported around 250 PSG fans threw projectiles at police, who responded with tear gas.
Now it is claimed the inspector will report back with his findings on Thursday week before a final decision is made on any possible punishment for PSG.
There has been a history of recent trouble at the Parc des Princes. Indeed, PSG had to close the north end of the stadium for the game against Red Star after trouble in their March defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently in second place in Group C and will qualify for the knockout stages with victory at PSG.
