LOSC 0-0 RC Strasbourg Alsace
Christophe Galtier (Lille coach): “Thiery Laurey did what he wanted to do, because he left with a point, but it’s largely thanks to his goalkeeper. Strasbourg played very deep. It didn’t stop us having chances, but we came up against a very good goalkeeper. We’re frustrated because we didn’t win, but I told my players I was happy with them because we played very well. We played high up the pitch, tried shots and crosses, but unfortunately there was always a defender or goalkeeper. We’re going to have to improve the quality of our crosses and increase numbers in the penalty area. This kind of draw, when we dominate so much, shows the team is in good health. The players weren’t rewarded for their efforts. We have 26 points from 13 games, that’s promising.”
Thierry Laurey (Strasbourg coach): “I’m satisfied with the draw, the performance too, even if we would have liked to have been more attacking. But you can’t have your cake and eat it. Above all, we wanted to defend well. I have to congratulate the players for the effort they put in. The aim was not to concede so we wouldn’t have to leave ourselves exposed…We did something basic, but solid.”
