Premier League transfer interests Roma’s Cengiz Under – sources

Cengiz Under joined Roma in July 2017.

Roma winger Cengiz Under is keen on a Premier League move at the end of the season, if he leaves Italy, sources have told ESPN FC.

Under has been scouted by several Premier League sides, with Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City showing keen interest.

City have a long-term interest in Under stretching back to his time at Basaksehir and narrowly missed out on signing the Turkey international ahead of Roma.

The Serie A outfit were able to promise first-team football while City planned to loan Under to Freiburg.

Arsenal and Tottenham, meanwhile, have been keeping close tabs on the rising star as well.

There is also interest from Germany and Spain but were Under to leave Italy, his priority would be a move to England.

The 21-year-old is not, however, considering a January exit.

Under is happy at Roma and keen to see out the end of the season after which his future will be reviewed.

The Giallorossi have made it clear they want to keep the youngster on their books for the foreseeable future but as was the case with Alisson Becker it all comes down to the fees being offered.

A bid in the region of £40-50 million could sway the Serie A club into considering a winter move. But as things stand, an offer exceeding their valuation has not been made.

The latest transfer rumours regarding a winter exit have heated up following contract talks between Under’s representatives and the club.

He is on the lower end of the Roma pay bracket earning in the region of €1m per season.

Under does have another four years remaining on his contract but his representatives are keen on getting him a pay increase.

A new deal would be likely to include a buyout clause option in around £40-50m.

He has 11 goals and seven assists in 44 appearances since joining from Basaksehir last summer.

Under has been in impressive form this term, especially in the Champions League where he has two goals and two assists in three games.
