As if a team stacked with prolific attackers wasn’t enough, there was another ace in the building when LAFC kicked off against Real Salt Lake in the Knockout Round of the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs on Thursday night.
Dodgers star Clayton Kershaw, fresh off a second consecutive appearance in the World Series, was on hand for the MLS team’s first home playoff game, the latest in a long line of celebrities and athletes to turn up to cheer on L.A.’s soccer teams.

Dodgers slugger Joc Pederson was also in attendance, and could be spotted high-fiving Carlos Vela and Lee Nguyen as they emerged from the tunnel in the pregame.

We’ll have to wait and see whether LAFC can replicate the Dodgers’ run to the final game of the postseason – and maybe even go one better and win it all. At the very least, we’re sure Kershaw, a southpaw and master of the curveball, can appreciate 90 minutes of Vela’s left-footed wizardry.
