The 25-year-old has made just three starts so far this season, and now reports in France suggest he is “bored” with life on Merseyside.

French title Le Parisien claims he is unsettled at Liverpool because of his lack of first team opportunities so far in England.

And they suggest he would be interested in the chance to join Paris Saint-Germain in January with the Ligue 1 leaders circling.

PSG have held a long interest in the versatile player, ever since he was impressing in matches against them while at Monaco.

They even tried to sign him before Liverpool beat off stiff competition for his services over the close season.

And it has been claimed they are acutely aware of Fabinho’s lack of opportunities so far during the current campaign – to the extent they are interested in trying to check his availability in January.

Having splashed out so much money on him this year, Liverpool will have little interest in selling Fabinho before he has had a chance to make an impact at Anfield.

But PSG’s need for a quality holding midfielder, at least for the remainder of this season, could see them try to prise the player away on a short-term basis.

Fabinho himself has admitted it has been frustrating at times sitting on the bench with Klopp making few changes to a side which has started the campaign so well.

And he insists he is doing everything he can to ensure he is ready to make his mark when called upon.

He said: “The moment is good, being called has helped too. So I’m very happy, I hope I can keep it.

“I know the rate here is very high, you have to always try to keep a good performance, and in our team we have a lot of options in the midfield.

“Of course it’s not possible to be always called, but whenever the coach needs me I want to be ready for it.”
