UEFA took disciplinary against Cristiano Ronaldo on Thursday following his direct red card in the UEFA Champions League group stage match between Valencia and Juventus.
“Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Champions League group stage match between Valencia CF and Juventus Football Club (0-2), played on 19 September in Spain,” UEFA said in a statement.
The case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control’s Ethics and Disciplinary Body next Friday, Sept. 27.
33-year-old Portuguese footballer received his first red card in the UEFA Champions League.
On Wednesday, the referee showed a straight red card to Ronaldo after he appeared to pull the hair of Valencia defender Jeison Murillo.
