Having suffered a grotesque eye injury during Liverpool’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, Roberto Firmino was a doubt to feature in their Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain three days later.
However, after starting on the bench, Firmino entered the fray late on and duly scored the winning goal in a dramatic 3-2 victory before celebrating by covering his eye with his hand.
Firmino then reported for training on Thursday morning sporting a brand new pair of protective glasses, which instantly put Jurgen Klopp in mind of a certain somebody.
“Edgar Davids is back” 😂
Bobby is back to business 👊 That flick 👀🔥

“Edgar Davids is back!” Klopp quipped with a trademark grin toward the cameras stationed pitch-side at Melwood.
Davids, the former Netherlands international, wore tinted goggles throughout his professional career due to issues with glaucoma.
As for Firmino, the forward looked right as rain while training with his teammates, pulling off a silky back-heeled flick and scoring with a neat finish during a small-sided game.
Something tells us he’ll be absolutely fine for the visit of Southampton to Anfield on Saturday.
