Since the Ligue 1 transfer window is still open, many teams in France are doing what football clubs do best, and that’s going around putting in last minute offers for players you’d never normally associate them with.
A great example of this is Caen looking at Rolando Aarons.
According to Foot Mercato, the Ligue 1 side, currently on the prowl for a winger, have ticked two names on their list to bolster their attack, which includes the Newcastle forward.
The other is Sporting CP’s Matheus Pereira, and in both cases, should a deal be worked out, the player would arrive on loan for the rest of the season.
Likely unable to afford the 22-year-old’s wages or meet the Magpies’ demands if they were interested in a full transfer, Caen will have to make do with a temporary one.
However, they aren’t the only side keen on the Newcastle man, as the outlet explain other Ligue 1 clubs looking for wingers have also taken a look at Aarons’ profile.
One to keep an eye on over the next day or so.
