Ligue 1 star’s entourage set for Wednesday ‘meeting’ with Man City, potential free transfer

Still a Paris Saint-Germain player despite a rather tumultuous transfer summer, Adrien Rabiot is expected to remain in the French capital for the current season.

First rejecting the chance to be on the reserve list for the France World Cup squad, the young midfielder has also turned down a new contract with the Ligue 1 champions.

According to RAC1 in Catalonia, Rabiot is open to a transfer away from Paris Saint-Germain, and is said to see a move to Barcelona with ‘good eyes’, even if that isn’t his only option, since Manchester City are on the prowl.

The media outlet explain the midfielder’s entourage are set to meet Pep Guardiola’s side on Wednesday to discuss a potential move next year, as the Frenchman and those around him want to evaluate all the offers at their disposal.

Contracted at Paris Saint-Germain until 2019, the 23-year-old looks set to run down his contract in France before moving to another club for free, which would be a huge blow for the Ligue 1 club, who have helped him become the player he is after taking him in in 2010.

Should he choose Manchester City, it would mark a return to the club for Rabiot, who spent a brief six month spell with the side in 2008, having to eventually cut his time in England short after they ‘failed to respect certain agreements’.

Let’s hope for his and Pep Guardiola’s sake that doesn’t happen again if they want to get this alleged deal over the line.

Either way, this would be a transfer for the summer of 2019.
