According to the latest reports, super-agent Jorge Mendes offered AS Monaco forward Radamel Falcao to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid to Juventus in this summer transfer window, the Los Blancos will struggle to replace the Portuguese goalscorer. The 33-year-old winger left the Santiago Bernabeu as Real Madrid’s all-time top goalscorer netting 450 times in nine seasons. However, the void left by Ronaldo needs to be filled and Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui is still looking in the transfer markets for replacements.
There were a number of top names lined up by the Madrid transfer board for players that could replace Ronaldo but a new name has emerged in the form of AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao. The 32-year-old is one of the most deadly attackers in the European continent and would be a great like for like replacement because of his goal scoring phenomenon.
Inside News-
According to Don Balon, super-agent Jorge Mendes was prepared to offer Falcao to Real Madrid before the end of the summer transfer window. Falcao initially flopped miserably during his two spells in the Premier League with Manchester United and Chelsea but found his rhythm when he returned to the Ligue 1.
Falcao helped Monaco win the French League back in 2016/17 scoring 30 goals in that season. The veteran goal machine has scored 260 times during his club career in South America as well as Europe and 30 more for his national side. But the report also claims that Real Madrid did not accept the offer as the plan for utilizing Gareth Bale or Marco Asensio as the false nine options.
Author’s Take-
I think that Falcao would be a great signing for Real Madrid but the only issue is his age factor. There is no denying the Colombian’s ability and his sense for killing off his chances.
