Who is Gus Poyet?
Poyet is a former Uruguayan midfielder who used to play for Chelsea and Tottenham.
He made over 100 appearances for the Blues from 1997 to 2001 and helped the side win the UEFA Cup winner’s cup, the UEFA Super Cup, and FA Cup trophy and the Charity Shield.

His first managerial appointment came in 2009 when he was announced as the new manager of (then) League One side Brighton and Hove Albion.
He led the side to promotion as the Football League One champions in the 2010/11 season which also saw him awarded the League One Manager of the Year.
Since Brighton, Poyet has been the manager at Sunderland, AEK Athens, Betis and Shanghai Shenhua before moving to Bordeaux in January.
Why has he been sacked by Bordeaux?
Bordeaux beat Ukrainian side Mariupol 2-1 (5-2 on aggregate) on Thursday to reach the Europa League qualifying play-off round.
But after the game, he went on a scathing rant about the clubs decision to sell Gaetan Laborde to Montpellier behind his back.
He said: “I am not happy today. This is my worst day at this club.
“It’s a disgrace what the club has done today with Gaetan Laborde. I told the club he could not leave until we bought another player.
“They did not listen and let Laborde go.
“We arrived at the hotel today at 11:45 and Laborde was not there. We called him and he was in Montpellier.
“Nobody told me anything!
“I am going to speak to my agent tomorrow and make a decision.”
During the rant the press officer in charge attempted to intervene adn stop the interview only for Poyet to cut in and say:
“No, no, I stop when I want, not when you want.
“I want public explanations and they tell the truth. I ask for respect and professionalism, no more. And if there is none, it’s over.”
