MOSCOW, August 15. /TASS/. The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) opened disciplinary proceeding against Russian football club Spartak Moscow after the Champions League match against Greek FC PAOK in the Russian capital on August 14.

“Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round second leg match between FC Spartak Moskva and PAOK FC (0-0), played on 15 August in Russia,” the UEFA announced in a statement on Wednesday.

The European governing football body reported that the disciplinary proceedings against PAOK FC were opened on charges of “stairways blocked” and “direct red card” for Spartak’s player Luiz Adriano.

The return match between Spartak and PAOK ended at the 45,000-seat capacity Otkrytie Arena in Moscow with the scoreless draw, which saw the Russian club leaving the race for the UEFA Champions League’s trophy. Playing away at the stadium in Thessaloniki on August 8 Spartak lost to PAOK 2-3.
