SAMUEL ETO’O is in talks to join his 13th professional club and a move to Ligue 1 is his preferred destination.
Eto’o ended a three-year spell in Turkey when he left Konyaspor in the summer and is now a free agent.

In an interview with RFI, he admitted he is willing to listen to offers from the top division in France, the favoured destination for many Cameroonians growing up.
The 37-year-old said: “If I tell you that I do not speak with some French clubs, it would be lying to you. We have offers. We will see what suits me best for the end of my career, and I will make my choice.
“My primary goal is to play in the first division. What I want is to continue playing football. I want to play two more seasons and then stop my career and start a new life.”
Eto’o broke on to the world stage during his five years at Barcelona between 2004 and 2009, winning the treble in his final year at the Nou Camp.

He moved to Inter Milan and repeated the feat the following year under Jose Mourinho, before moving to Anzhi Makhachkala, Chelsea, Everton and Sampdoria and then he made the switch to Turkey.
But for Eto’o, a move to France for the first time would mean a lot to the four-time African Player of the Year.
He added: “For us, Cameroonians, Africans and Francophones, France is a country of reference. Younger, it was a dream that I had to evolve in France. It did not happen. If this opportunity arises, I will be there, otherwise I will always be happy.”
Despite his age, the forward believes he could still perform well in Ligue 1 and did not rule out a move to Paris Saint-Germain, the club he supports.

Eto’o said: “I know how to score goals, that’s what I’ve done all my life and that’s what I will continue to do. Even if I do not have my speed of 20, I always keep a good speed.
“I already support PSG. I do not know if that will happen before the end of my career but the most important for me is to continue to play, score goals and have fun.
“I’m not obsessed by saying ‘I want to play in France’. If this is done, it will be something good. If this is not done, well I will continue to be happy and support my Paris Saint-Germain.”
No matter where the Cameroon national team record scorer ends up and subsequently finishes his career, he is certain he will not end up going into politics.
He said: “It is true that I do politics, at my level, but I never considered to start, to have a political career. I do not care. George Weah, it’s George Weah. Me, it’s Samuel Eto’o.”
He scored just four goals for Everton before leaving Goodison Park for Sampdoria
