Chicago Fire waive defender Kevin Ellis, midfielder Tony Tchani

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Waived

The Chicago Fire announced two roster moves on Thursday, after waiving defender Kevin Ellis and midfielder Tony Tchani.

Ellis (pictured above) joined the Fire in March, after moving over from Sporting Kansas City, where he spent the first seven seasons of his pro career. The 27-year-old had been a regular, making 20 appearances in league play this season and scoring two goals and four assists.

Tchani, 29, was playing in his ninth season in MLS, his first with Chicago after being acquired in a trade from Vancouver Whitecaps FC just prior to the season. The midfielder made 13 MLS regular season appearances this year, scoring one goal.
