Rumor: Could Mexico international Oswaldo Alanis be headed to MLS?

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Rumor

After signing for La Liga side Getafe this summer, center back Oswaldo Alanis could be on the move again, possibly headed for MLS. A club was not specified.

According to Diario Record, Alanis (pictured above vs. Toronto FC‘s Jozy Altidore in Concacaf Champions League play) will leave Getafe for another European team or MLS, but not to Mexico where he had spent the entirety of his career before. He was signed by Getafe’s since-departed sporting director Ramon Planes and current coach Jose Bordalas never asked for his services, leaving him surplus to requirements.

Alanis, 29, played for Chivas Guadalajara, Santos Laguna and Estudiantes Tecos in Mexico and has been capped 21 times for the Mexican National Team, scoring twice for El Tri.

Earlier this winter, it was reported that LAFC were interested in signing the defender, though on Friday they announced the signing of another international center back, Brazilian Danilo Silva.
