Southampton have joined the hunt for Lille full-back Kevin Malcuit.
Saints boss Mark Hughes wants to add to his squad before the transfer window for signings slams shut for Premier League clubs on 9th August.
Napoli have been eyeing signing Malcuit from Lille, but they have now been joined by Southampton, according to Sky Italia.
It is claimed that the Premier League club’s interest in the defender is serious, meaning an offer could soon be made for Malcuit.
Lille signed the 26-year-old from fellow French club Saint-Etienne in 2017, with him putting pen to paper to a five-year deal.
Malcuit made 23 appearances in Ligue 1 for Lille last season, getting forward to provide five assists for his team-mates.
All eyes will now be on whether Southampton push hard to take the right-back to St. Mary’s.
Southampton kick off their Premier League campaign by playing host to Sean Dyche’s Burnley side on 12th August.
