Fulham are leading the race to sign Swansea defender Alfie Mawson, sources close to the London club have told ESPN FC.
The 24-year-old has impressed since signing from Barnsley in 2016, and won his first England callup for the friendlies against Netherlands and Italy in March.
Fulham are ready to pay £25 million for Mawson, with boss Slavisa Jokanovic keen to bolster his defensive options following promotion to the Premier League and Swansea resigned to losing him.
A number of clubs including West Ham and Burnley have been linked with Mawson following Swansea’s relegation from the Premier League last season.
He is still recovering from the knee surgery that ruled him out of England’s World Cup squad, but is expected to be back to full fitness soon.
