Report: Peruvian Edison Flores mulling MLS move

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Will Edison Flores be the latest Peruvian to play in Major League Soccer? According to a report out of Peru, it’s a possibility.

The 24-year-old midfielder is said to be fielding several offers, though he told the Danish press he is still a member of Aalborg, the Danish SuperLiga squad he joined in 2016 after two years in his second stint with Peruvian club Universitario.

“There are several offers from other clubs to go out, but at this moment there is nothing clear,” he said. “I still have two years left on my contract here.”

Libero out of Peru reports Flores is fielding offers from Alaves in Spain’s first division, Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, where fellow Peruvian Andre Carrillo plays as well as unnamed teams in MLS and Liga MX.

Flores’ agent is said to be traveling to Denmark to meet with Aalborg brass to discuss his future there. In the meantime, Flores plans on training with Aalborg, where he’s scored twice in 35 appearances.

Flores, who spent two years with Villarreal’s reserve team before moving to Aalborg, has made 33 appearances for Peru, scoring nine goals. He was named to the 23-man squad for the World Cup and started all three of La Blanquirroja’s games in Group C.
