Manchester United near deal to sell Daley Blind back to Ajax – sources

While Diogo Dalot may not be a Man United regular next season, Shaka Hislop feels it’s a statement of intent for the future.

Thibaut Courtois believes Marouane Fellaini is a useful player for both Belgium and Manchester United, after he signed a new two-year deal at Old Trafford.

Manchester United defender Daley Blind is closing in on a move to Ajax, sources have told ESPN FC.

Ajax are hopeful of sealing a deal for the 28-year-old before United depart on their summer tour of the United States on Sunday.

Blind, who has also been linked with Inter Milan and Roma, returned to Carrington on Wednesday for the start of preseason training.

He trained with Jose Mourinho’s side on Friday while United and Ajax negotiated a fee.

Sources have told ESPN FC that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has been holding out for around £15 million.

Blind, who made just four Premier League starts last season, moved to Old Trafford from Ajax for £13.8m in 2014.

Sources have also told ESPN FC that United have received an enquiry from Inter Milan for full-back Matteo Darmian.

The club have already held talks with Juventus about the Italy international.

Inter and Juventus, according to sources, are both keen to loan Darmian for a year ahead of a permanent move next summer, but United would prefer a cash deal now.
